In the past few months I was busy with my work, my family and our animals. An operation on my shoulder stopped me completely and crocheting was almost impossible. It became very quiet on my blog “Amilovesgurumi”.
Now the world also seems to stand still – and in this crisis I slowly found my way back to crocheting. With a lot of breaks I was able to develop a small amigurumi. Continue reading Lea, the robot girl
In autumn begins my busiest time of the year, the harvest season. In my garden I pick apples, plums, quinces and grapes and I have a lot to do to process the fruit and often I just give them away 🙂
This year we had many grapes and my husband and I decided to make wine and Tsipouro (grape brandy).
What is Tsipouro and how is it made? For me that was a completely new topic, the world of spirits distillery.
After harvesting, we squeezed the grapes and filled them in large containers. The grapes were about 30 days inside and the sugar fermented into alcohol. The juice became wine and from the fermented grapes we made Tsipouro. Continue reading Autumn with Cat, Fish Bones and Tsipouro
In my last post I showed you how to make a washing machine. But for a perfect washing day you also need a laundry basket. This time Nina wrote a pattern for you and I’ll show you the further process so that it will be a stable toy.

Next year I will start a crochet seminar in our community. I would like to support the people who can’t participate in any event because they simply don’t have the money. The seminar will be completely free of charge.

How to make wings for a doll? Of course you can crochet them, but you can also tinker the wings and you will have many different wings in a short time.
You will need: A large plastic bottle (1.5 l) or a big disposable plastic cup, household scissors, nail scissors, adhesive tape. Needle and rubber band for the straps.

In October 2013 I was crocheting a Teddy for a small crochet group here in Soufli. I had just begun to write my own patterns and the Teddy was one of my first designs. I wrote this pattern with symbols, because my Greek was still very poor and also it was easier to understand for the women who did not speak English.

Have you ever tried to crochet around a rope? You just need a rope and a not too thin yarn and you are ready to get started. You have to crochet around the rope in spiral rounds. I have used for my Baskets a thick rope and a package cord – and they have become incredibly stable.

When I was 5 years old, I got a wonderful Christmas present – a Barbie. I was the happiest girl in the world! I loved the doll and the clothes and the accessories fascinated me. I had a only a few dresses and shoes, but I had a lot of ideas and so I tinkered her clothes from tissues. Or I made a veil out of it, picked some daisies and I had a bride!

As a support for the coming year I crocheted a protection symbol: the Ankh. the oldest, symbolic religious cross.
The ankh can be found at almost all the temples, murals and burial sites in Egypt and was already used around 2650 BC.
