I’m back – jippie-ja-yeah!
It’s been a while since I wrote anything. My last post was in February when I started a crochet group here in town and did not have much time for the blog. But to be perfectly honest, I also lost my motivation – the writing and designing of the patterns had suddenly become tedious.
In the beginning of March my shoulder became inflamed and I had to give up crocheting completely. My arm was immobilized, but the inflammation still dragged on for weeks and ended in surgery. My doctor thought physiotherapy was unnecessary (which turned out to be complete nonsense) and so it came, as it had to come. The pain got worse, especially at night and I was afraid that this condition might stay that way.
I was desperate and searched the Internet for solutions. The doctors I asked advised me on painkillers, which I did not want to use all the time. Finally, I found an excellent physiotherapist who actually managed to make my shoulder joint more flexible and painless. I thank him, he is my hero ♥
Oh, and now I’m happy to present my moose.

I have designed the piece in an “adult” style. The moose is a great decoration for the Christmas season, he does not seem so playful but has a calm charisma.

The pattern is very detailed with many pictures, you can crochet your moose completely relaxed.

A very seasonal project to celebrate your return! I’ m so happy to hear from you! yes sometimes we need a break for fun to remain fun.
Thank you Line. I have missed the comments and talking to people from all over the world. I’m so happy that you are still with me and wish you all the best.
Thank you for the pattern. I’m legally blind and still make gifts for everyone. I had an eye stroke 5 years ago and lose my balance and 80% sight in each eye. God still has blessed me, I make lap blankets to our local VA Hospital My husband id a veteran and my granddaughter just got deployed. So each item I make is with love and prayers for the person who get them. Again thank you, Marlene
Hallo Marlene, I think it’s wonderful that you can crochet despite your limitations. I wish you all the best and thank you for your nice comment. You are my hero!!!
Eine wirklich tolle Anleitung. Dir weiterhin alles Gute und eine große Portion Motivation.
Hallo Jessika. Vielen Dank für den netten Kommentar. Ich wünsche dir viel Spaß beim Häkeln!
Thank you so much for this pattern. I’ve been looking for something a little different from the normal snowman/reindeer/Santa patterns for my two sisters presents. :-). I do hope that your surgery continues to be a success.
Thank you Vanessa, I wish you a lot of fun with the moose. I’m sure your sisters will love the design.
Happy to see you back on your blog. Sad to hear about the problems and pain in your shoulder. Great that the physiotherapist could help you. I love the moose you made. Thanks for sharing the pattern.
I wish you a good day, Margaret
Hello Margaret, also nice to hear from you. I train my shoulder every day and it does gets better, slowly but constantly. Have fun with the moose pattern. I will create more dolls in the ragdoll-style, so stay with me. I wish you a wonderful time and happy crocheting.
I’m so glad to hear that you have your Crojo back, Karin 🙂
I, too, lost it for a while, but was so releived when I got it back again! 🙂
Thanks for the Moose pattern – it looks wonderfully grown-up 🙂
I’m going to be giving it a go as part of my xmas decorations, I think 🙂
Yes, without motivation writing and crocheting patterns is almost impossible. But the time without the internet was also important. My designs have changed. Now I want to crochet more decorations and less toys. Have fun with your moose!
I can’t wait to see what you come up with next 🙂
I’m working on the next. It is a … okay, how about a riddle? It lives in Iceland and could compete as a supermodel, because it also knows the gaits Tölt and Pass. What kind of animal could that be?
Lovely!! I adore all of your patterns so much!
Thanks for the motivation, I’m happy to read this! ♥
Hallo Karin,
I am joining a swap and think that I might use your pattern.
Vielen Dank dafür.
Liebe Grüße,
Erika
This is so cute… found today 1/21/18 and he will be done for Christmas 2018 (three of them) 🙂
Thank you, have fun with a herd of them ♥
I’m happy you are back and hopefully getting better everyday. You have been missed take it one day at a time try not to overdo yourself. Your Moose is Amazing, I ave always enjoyed all your patterns. Take care of yourself first. Thank you so much for your inspiration and patterns. Amanda
Hello Amanda, thank you so much for your kind words. This year I was not able to make a lot of patterns. At the moment I do not have much free time, but I still enjoy designing Amigurumi. I was thinking of giving up my blog, but decided to just relax. Now I do not write patterns every month and I do not panic anymore. It is a compromise that I like and I hope that I can still write many patterns in the future.
Excellent site you have got here.. It’s hard to find high quality writing like yours these days.
I truly appreciate people like you! Take care!!
Hi Karin, I’m desperate to figure out the horns on the moose? I don’t know what the “crochet for the corner ch” means ? Could you please walk me through this row. Thank you 😊
Hi Janet,
this means, once you reached the corner, for example at row 1, crochet 7 x sc, then crochet a ch and a sc into the last stitch again on this row, this way you crochet around the corner and now you can start to crochet downwards to the head again. I hope this will help you to understand the pattern.
Have fun crocheting and best regards
