Autumn with Cat, Fish Bones and Tsipouro

In autumn begins my busiest time of the year, the harvest season. In my garden I pick apples, plums, quinces and grapes and I have a lot to do to process the fruit and often I just give them away 🙂

This year we had many grapes and my husband and I decided to make wine and Tsipouro (grape brandy).

What is Tsipouro and how is it made? For me that was a completely new topic, the world of spirits distillery.

After harvesting, we squeezed the grapes and filled them in large containers. The grapes were about 30 days inside and the sugar fermented into alcohol. The juice became wine and from the fermented grapes we made Tsipouro. Continue reading Autumn with Cat, Fish Bones and Tsipouro

I’m on the move

I’m moving away from my wordpress hosted system. I’ve been wanting that for so long and now the time has come. Don’t worry, for you only one small thing changes. Also very nice is, that I can install now plugins that make my blogger life easier (Plugins are additional modules that give the blog more functions).

So far, I have had to set parts of my posts in German and then I wrote the English translation. This is a bit awkward for the readers, they had to skip a section in order to continue reading. Continue reading I’m on the move

Fashionable mice

It is currently very cold in Greece. The last days it rained constantly and a cold wind blew, I could not take walks with the dogs.

But bad weather is also perfect weather for all Amigurumi and crochet fans. Rain and storm – awesome. My program looks like this: I light the wood stove, make coffee, store crochet hook and wool around me and get started!!!

Grape harvest and Halloween Decoration

End of September begins the most exciting time of the year in my vineyard – the vintage. It is important that it does not rain at the end of the ripening period, because the sugar content of the grapes decreases after a rain.

Little nurses

Nina, my friend gave me a small Amigurumi nurse. I wanted to test Nina’s pattern and publish it here, but somehow I changed almost everything – except the patterns for arms and legs, which are original by Nina ♥ Without her idea this little nurse would not be here so I thank her with all my heart for the inspiration and lovely gift.

Teddy is back

In October 2013 I was crocheting a Teddy for a small crochet group here in Soufli. I had just begun to write my own patterns and the Teddy was one of my first designs. I wrote this pattern with symbols, because my Greek was still very poor and also it was easier to understand for the women who did not speak English.
