In October 2013 I was crocheting a Teddy for a small crochet group here in Soufli. I had just begun to write my own patterns and the Teddy was one of my first designs. I wrote this pattern with symbols, because my Greek was still very poor and also it was easier to understand for the women who did not speak English.
Carine from Holland asked me recently, if she could translate the pattern for the Teddy. I asked her to just wait a little bit, because I wanted to write the pattern in a regular way. Last week I was on vacation and I finally had time for the pattern. I changed a few things, but the shape remained the same. Also I made a lot of pictures and the pattern is easy to follow.
Here you can see the Teddy-siblings: On the left side is the original Teddy next to the “new“ summer Teddy ♥
Since we have high summer temperatures, I didn’t want to crochet a Teddy with a scarf and shoes. But I made plenty of beach toys for the little guy. First I crocheted the bucket, then I made a shovel and also a rake and of course a watering can. And then I wanted to surprise the Teddy.
I showed him the sea, seated him at the beach and it was not long and he was terribly bored.
I showed him quickly his new beach-toys and – crochet goodness – he played happily with it all afternoon
– and I had plenty of time for swimming in the sea 🙂
This pattern has been translated into Dutch from Carine Meessen.
Thank you so much for your effort and time to translate this!
I wish you much fun and many beautiful summer days,
♥ Karin ♥
